Frequently asked questions
All boards have a default share setting of private. This means no one can see your board except you or anyone you share the board with. To make a board public you will need to switch the share setting to from private to public and accept the terms of the pop-up. Please note that public boards may be indexed and discoverable by search engines.
Private sharing allows you to keep your search boards private and only share with a small group of people. There are some special features associated with private sharing to be aware of. They are as follows:
- All private boards are synced so all members can see changes.
- The owner of a board sets the access rights to the board. They can set it as view only or edit.
- In view mode - members can only view the board but not make changes.
- In edit mode - members can edit the board.
- The owner of the board can delete a member's access at any time.
- The owner can also delete the board at any time.
- If the owner deletes a private board - all members will loose access to the board.
- Members of a private board cannot delete the board but can choose to leave.
- Members can also choose to leave a board and make a copy of it at any time.
- If a member leaves a board they won't have access to a board unless they make a copy before leaving.
- If the owner deletes a member they won't have access to the board.
- If a board is private - you can't switch it to public unless you delete the members or make a copy.
- Public boards are read-only and viewable by anyone with a link.
- Users are able to make a copy using the "Add Board To Your Account" button to put in their account.
- Once in their account they can add content, or delete board, share board, rename it etc.
- Please note that public boards may be indexed and discoverable by search engines.
- If someone deletes a public board from their account its no longer viewable, unless copied.
Notes:
- There is no option at this time to automatically make a copy of a board if the owner deletes your access before you have had the chance to make a copy.
- There is no option at this time for a member of a board to add additional users to the board, only the owner can do that.
- If a user decides to share a board that has been shared with you; a copy of the board is made and no longer syncs with the original version of the board.
- Private boards if shared on social media will say private and can't be viewed by the public.
